In one of our previous tutorials, we explained how you can show recent comments in WordPress. In this video, we will be talking about how you can moderate comments in WordPress. Comments can be a great way to receive feedbacks and generate more traffic to your site. But allowing just about any comment in your site may not always serve you well. There are always the chances of spam comments and other tons of inappropriate comments flooding your site. So, in this article, we will show you how you can moderate comments in WordPress.
In order to moderate comments, first, you will need to go to the “Comment” Section of your dashboard. When you do so, you can view a list of all the comments that are present in your site. On the top, you will see All, Pending, Approved, Spam, Trash options.
If you want to approve or unapprove certain comments just place your mouse cursor in the specific comment and you will find, “Approve, Reply, Quick Edit, Edit, Spam, Trash” sections. Using these options you can spam a comment or move any comment to trash. You can check if the comments are spam or not by judging the author’s username, keywords, and links mentioned in the comments. section. In order to moderate the comments for spam, you can also use the default WordPress plugin – Akismet.
You can also moderate your comments by scrolling down the post you have created and checking the comment section that exists at the end of every post you have created.
